Basseterre Travel Safety Guide — Saint Kitts and Nevis
Safety Score: 7.5/10 · Value: 7/10 · Beauty: 7.8/10
Basseterre is the small, easygoing capital of Saint Kitts and Nevis, the smallest country in the Americas. Most visitors arrive by cruise ship and head straight out, up to the old hilltop fortress, around the island on the little scenic railway, or across to quieter Nevis. The pace is slow and the main pleasures are simple ones, beaches, rum and views. It is friendly and generally safe, though like much of the Caribbean it is best enjoyed with a relaxed plan rather than a packed schedule.
