Victoria Falls Travel Safety Guide — Zimbabwe
Safety Score: 6.8/10 · Value: 7/10 · Beauty: 9.4/10
Victoria Falls, Mosi-oa-Tunya ('The Smoke That Thunders') in the local Kololo language, is arguably the most spectacular natural wonder in Africa. At its peak flow (March–May), 500 million litres of water per minute plunge 108 metres into the Zambezi Gorge, creating spray visible from 50km away. Straddling the Zimbabwe-Zambia border, the falls are accessible from Victoria Falls town (Zimbabwe side) or Livingstone (Zambia side).
