Bergen Travel Safety Guide — Norway
Safety Score: 9.3/10 · Value: 5/10 · Beauty: 9.1/10
Bergen is the prettiest of Norway's cities and the usual starting point for the fjords, with both Hardanger and the long Sognefjord within easy reach. Its postcard is Bryggen, the row of crooked wooden Hanseatic houses along the old harbour, now full of small shops and cafes. The one thing everyone warns you about is the rain: Bergen gets around 250 wet days a year, so bring a proper waterproof and do not let it change your plans. For the best view, ride the funicular up Mount Fløyen, or take the cable car up higher Ulriken.
